Lake Worth Assistant Utility Director, Clayton Lindstrom, is a finalist for the position of Utilities Director for the city of Lakeland, Florida. Lakeland is a member of the Florida Municipal Power Agency.Lake Worth is currently in the process of exiting the FMPA's All requirements project. Lindstrom also sits on the newly formed Electric Utilities Advisory Board (EUAB) (as liaison), an advisory board formed to assist the city in the selection of a new electric service provider.

Hey Lynn, Is Rebecca Mattey(hot fox who drives a gas guzzling Hummer) gone yet? Any update? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMay 25 was her last day but I believe she left way before that.
ReplyDeleteYou have a utility board now formed with people who do nothing but complain. Can anyone blame Clay for wanting to leave town?
ReplyDeleteutility brass getting out before the tough questions are asked and answered.
ReplyDeletemattey did not want to be around to answer questinos about her kingdom with stanton there to defend and sheild her.
Lets see- Lake Worth is trying to exit from FMPA.Clayton Lindstrom is trying to get a job with an FMPA city. Clayton Lindstrom also just happens to be our assistant utilities director. Clayton Lindstron also happens to be on the newly formed elctric utilities task force board.Anybody else think these connections are strange?
ReplyDeleteHe wants to advance his career. He has not been offered the Utility Director position in Lake Worth. I don't see anything peculiar about it. Wasn't it Bornstein that left a "nice" job to advance his career?
ReplyDeleteLynn, how do you know Mr. Lindstrom was not offered the Directors position?
ReplyDeleteActually, that's a good question. If he were offered the position I would definitely assume that he would take it and that we all would know about it. Even if he were not happy here, he would take the job--more money and great for his resume--and still look elsewhere. Has Bornstein offered it to him and we just don't know about it? You tell me.
ReplyDeleteClay & Rebecca knew it was time to bail as the chickens were coming home to roost:
ReplyDeleteParagon, after investing $50,000,000 in their LW facility walked away taking 80 jobs with $65,000 being the lowest salary.
The RO plant's maintenance costs are skyrocketing because of membrane and chemical problems---Also, the electrical costs are a multiple of budgeted numbers
I have NO idea what you're talking about and NEITHER DO YOU.
ReplyDeletemaxwell did it...
ReplyDeleteDon't laugh about Maxwell--He probably had something to do with Mattey leaving. You know, the Commission is always talking about respect--respect for citizens, employees, etc. and then treat people abominably. Who would want to work for them? They suck up to the Unions and treat them with kid gloves and then put certain staff through the mill grinder--fire them or force them to leave. Not pretty.

Clay and Rebecca don't want to deal with decisions made by idiots. This commission doesn't want anyone smarter than them on staff. The dumbing-down began with Stanton and it's not over yet. The prior commission required competence and excellence for a six figure salary. Not this commission. They reward obedience. Creative, dynamic people do not function well under that sort of regime.
Any organization that is stupid enough to walk away from a $50M investment is . . . well, stupid. I find that very hard to believe. Just goes to show that you can post any kind of nonsense anonymously and you don't have to stand behind it with facts. BTW, I heard Santa is moving into Paragon's space. He has a lot of bizness, so we should be ok! He's sub-leasing some space to Captain America and Newt Gingrich.
AS well, I'll believe the "sky-rocketing RO costs" when I see it in the budget. Um, low-cost crappy water or higher cost top-quality water. Tough choice, unless you don't mind lapping water from a drainage ditch. The electric costs/multiple of budgeted numbers nonsense sounds like Jack had too much coffee this morning. His financial analyses always give me a good laugh.
"He has not been offered the utility director position in Lake Worth".
ReplyDeleteHow do you know this?
"I don't".
That pretty much sums up your blog!
You're a big proponent of the R.O. plant. What's the story on the financial deception and will we (most of us anyway) be paying much higher water bills due to the $40 million fiasco?
It is a fact: Clay Lindstrom has NOT been offered the Utility Director job. This was verified.
ReplyDeleteSO, this pretty much sums up your lack of any intelligence in any regard, anonymous at 10:01. And it also sums up your lack of reason, the ability to think things through, which is a lack of intelligence. Sorry for that little mistake.
to the first 10:01 anonymous poster--You say it started with the dumbing down of Stanton. What you meant was--it started when this commission FIRED a competent city manager.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea who paragon is and I don't know what's going on at the RO plant but this sounds like the same person who comes up with supposed real facts which often seem dubious at best
ReplyDeleteIf you are talking about Paragon Chemicals which recently vacated the Park of Commerce because of poor water quality, I know about them.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't the city offer them well water instead of RO water?
Why didn't internal and external filtration proccesses take care of the problem.
This company required a high level of pure water. Is their an ongoing problem or is this restricted to Paragon Chemicals?
Sounds like we just don't have the whole story on the Paragon exit. I doubt that it was poor water quality, but more likely that RO water does not perform best in certain molecular processes.
ReplyDeleteIt would be ridiculous for Paragon to invest 50 million and then just leave without picking up the phone and speaking to utility management. Just too far-fetched to believe some of the stupid posts here.
Just what is the whole story on Paragon?
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult to believe that a company who could accumulate $50,000,000 to invest in a site would forfeit the investment because they were stupid.
What, if any, was the interaction with the City Manager, elected officials and the Water Enterprise people?
this is the whole story on Paragon--From the asst. Utility Director:
ReplyDeletewe were trying to research Paragon Chemicals and any issues we knew about. Perrigo is a manufacturing facility in the Park of Commerce that is still in operation as far as we know. There was a purported concern about elevated levels of ‘HPC’ in November however we were not able to substantiate the claims. We did take precautionary measures to alleviate any possible issues and as recently as May we received a “Thank you” from their QC supervisor. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Thanks.
