Is King Maxwell going to be there?
ReplyDeleteMaybe we can rebuild the shuffleboard courts for all the people who DO NOT live in Lake Worth
ReplyDeleteto use them. For years we did not have a L. W. team playing there.
My hope would be, and the hope of those who do shuffleboard here in LW, would be to see County or even national tournaments in our City. This brings visitors who spend money in our downtown.
ReplyDeleteWe have a beach visited by many people who do not live here, not only from PB County but across the world. It's our beach and we pay to maintain it.
So, what exactly is your argument? Or is this an argument? Or is it just someone being smart first thing in the morning? Should we have a soccer field instead?
All three?
My argument is that we build facilities that tax payers do not use. Why don't we have a meeting, and see what they really want. We have NO money but you advocate putting hundreds of thousands of dollars into facilities that the tax payers will never use.We are so generous to outside people, I only wish we could afford it.
ReplyDeleteOk.
ReplyDeleteWe are building a new casino that taxpayers can use or not use--their choice. We will be redeveloping our beach. There are many people who do not go to the beach. But without any doubt, all of our assets are just that and they attract $$$ to our city.
The Shuffleboard Court building is in place. The courts are in place. With the proper maintenance, they WILL be utilizend again like they were for multiple decades.
So, attend the meeting on Jan 25 and voice your concerns that you want the grounds to be used for _________. What would you rather have there?
Recreation, no matter what it is, attracts people to our city. The Seniors would like it back.
I think a palace for King Maxwell would be suitable
ReplyDeleteLets see- a palace for King Maxwell or a urinal and turd off loading station for drunken illegals- I'll take the PALACE !!!
