Support Lake Worth Small Businesses

Comment Up
Commissioner Andy Amoroso

Give us a try says Andy Amoroso

I have never understood these people, you know, those who wait in line for a day for stores to open at Midnight so that they can get some crazy deal. All of it is nuts.

Here in Lake Worth many of the stores are discounting their merchandise today and tomorrow and encouraging us to come on down for lunch and shop the Avenues. They are promoting Black Friday and Small Business Saturday in Lake Worth where we have so many unique Mom & Pop stores from art, antiques, pet accessories, clothes and even a juice bar for a cool drink after all that avenue strolling. There will be street performers and musicians.

For a fun day, come on down to Lake Worth.

  1. Yes, I've supported LW businesses for many, many years and continue to do so. Always shop local, never go to Walmart, or malls, etc.

However, I do NOT support the new commissioner who wants to use his political office to further his commercial (ie personal) income.

Why not have a picture showing all of downtown LW --or even better, businesses on Dixie Highway, etc?

I love you Lynn, but this picture feels way too political.

Meanwhile, if people really want to support Lake Worth & the holiday spirit, I suggest they have garage sales & find other ways to help their neighbors, & raise or donate funds to help people who can't afford to shop anywhere --local or otherwise.

Personally, I will only be giving "recycled" or homemade gifts this year. (That's all I can afford.)

  2. Oh, I'm sorry--I didn't realize the photo would come across as political to anyone...sure didn't mean that. Andy does support downtown business; he was quoted in the Post article and he is Pres of the Downtown Cultural Alliance.
