Katie and I drove over to the beach and stopped at Benny's. Because of the weather, business was down but the inside was packed full of hungry people. They only opened 4 tables upstairs because of the winds. We left and went to Toojays where we were accosted by a panhandler who had no idea that we were not your typical "easy mark." Katie politely said, "No, not today," whereas I was muttering under my breath, "Get lost, pal."
One of our residents reported to me that today, the Pier attendant tried to rip off a gentleman from walking on it. He told him $6 when the sign clearly states $1.60 plus tax or something. It used to be $1 now the city has gone up on the charge just for walking on OUR OWN PIER.
ReplyDeleteYou know what???????????????????
EVERYONE SHOULD BE REALLY MAD RIGHT ABOUT NOW for all the nickel and dimes.
Take the Pier out of the hands of Benny's. This is a cash business and everyone knows we don't see all of the money that we should. There are NO) controls for honesty.
Thank goodness this is not us going through a hurricane. Sorry for NY.
ReplyDeleteAll the residents of this fair city should be counting their blessing today. Had this storm decided to come ashore anywhere near here this city would be finished. Talk about financial urgency! There are no funds to help get things back in order. We would be relying on the donations of the rest of the nation. If Horton could get them to realize that there is a city on that tiny clover.
ReplyDeleteI agree. We would be in deep do do especially since we have burned through ALL of our reserves to the tune of $12 MILLION DOLLARS.
ReplyDeleteWhere did our 12 million go?
