Cash and Corruption helping Tom Ramiccio

Comment Up
Lake Worth elections are non-partisan. A candidate, when asked, can't even reveal his Party affiliation when he is campaigning. So, why then is The Republican Party making a full court press, bullying its way into Lake Worth and helping Republican Tom Ramiccio get elected?

National Party's should stay out of Lake Worth with their cash and corruption. The Republican Party of the Palm Beaches Chair, Sid Dinerstein, doesn't even know half the time what Party he is a member of when he helped Rene Varela, a Democrat and former mayor of Lake Worth, with a robo call on his behalf. Rene, of course, is the reason why we are having this special election and the one who forced the City to spend all of this money. Larry Winawer, campaign strategist, likes to use the words "You are a disgrace." The Republican Party that constantly bullies its way into Lake Worth IS a disgrace.

Tell Tom "NO" on June 28.

  1. Thank you, Lynn.
Not only is used car salesman Tom R getting cash from the GOP big shots on Palm Beach and in Boca Raton, he's pretty clearly getting coached by them in the Roger Stone/Richard Nixon school of smears. "Anarchist" indeed.
The same kind of outside, fat cat money went to Lisa M in the last election. But you know how those people are, always quick to fire the help.
I'll stick with a hometown candidate with hometown values, thank you--Rachel W.

  2. So it okay then that Campaign Coordinator for the Green Party, Annabeth Karson is actively out campaigning for Rachel Waterman? The Green Party has their reasons for supporting Waterman, just like the Republican party has their reasons for supporting Ramiccio. SO WHAT? These elections have NEVER been non-partisan so to disparage one candidate for outside support and not another for the same is disingenuous.

Hometown candidate? Rachel did not grow up here. She moved here a few months ago and has o clue what has been going on in this City for the past 5 years. Hometown values? My values don't include multiple foreclosures, liens, divorces and suing your current spouse for child support.

Remember, 70$ of Waterman's donations came from out of the area and 25% came from sitting Commissioners' families. Is your position that it is okay to receive donations from politicians if they are ones you support?

  3. You're comparing the Green Party to the Republican Party? The Republican Party that caters to the wealthy and every fat cat alive? Lake Worth is a city of working stiffs that have a salary under the national average. Can you see them wanting a Republican?

I don't know Annabeth Karson's party affiliation but I can assure you that The Green Party is not funding Waterman's campaign in any way shape or form. Also, they do not have boots on the street door knocking. Waterman's campaign is strictly grassroots, something for which the Republican Party knows nothing. Also, the Waterman campaign consists of people who are registered in all Parties.

The elections here have ALWAYS been non-partisan. Waterman worked in PB County so it is natural she has met a lot of people who do not live in LW who happen to like her. She is not getting one dime from any Party, unlike Ramiccio.

Scott Maxwell along with Ramiccio is pulling in all Republican cards. There will be a Republican fund raiser for Ramiccio on Wednesday that even stretches out of the County with Republican State Committeeman Peter Feaman, out of towners such as Boynton's mayor Jose Rodriguez and the list goes on.

I, along with most people, do not want out-of-towners influencing our local election. What is in it for them?

It is difficult to beat fat cat money. However, it has been done before.

  4. Well, thank God the republicans are a minority around here. I should think that they are even a bigger minority after Rick Scott.

  5. Rachel's supporters are supplying sweat equity instead of sitting back in Palm Beach or Boca scribbling in the checkbook. And her donations come from working class folks, not the local aristocrats
As for hometown values, they are the same wherever you grow up: local control for local benefit, not selling out your city to outside interests.
Lastly, "Ned": Why don't you have the courage to post your stuff under your real name?

  6. Normally I do not post personal attacks without a proper name of the poster, however in this instance I wanted to show everyone how vicious the other side really is. Truth does not matter to these folks. And that is why it is so dangerous to even consider anyone like this as a Mayor. We need real solutions to real problems, not personal bully attacks and heavens, calling people "anarchists" just because they have some smarts.

  7. I don't understand how a candidate such as Ms Waterman can inspire such confidence when she just moved into a rental in LW, (hadn't Rene Varela just moved to town as well), says if elected she may only be in it for the short term, has said that a chicken farm would be appropriate for the Park of Commerce, and has a background of personal financial difficulties.....
I personally like her, but the above mentioned facts inspire zero confidence in me for her becoming our mayor.

  9. Tom Ramiccio called out the Swat team on his own citizens who were legally collecting petitions for the Supermajority, which Tom did not agree with. I was there.Tom is a bully. He called code on the owner of Havana when he and the Chamber did not get to control bike night.Tom is a bully. I am a republican, and I do not agree with the Republican party doing this. Sod Dinnerstein should have stepped down in disgrace after he did robo calls for a Democrat, Rene Varela. The bottom line- people like Sid and Tom and Mark Foley can put whatever label,Republican or Democrat,on their heads that they want at that minute. They are still self serving creeps that are only in it for what they can get. Tom,and Sid and Mark don't care about the taxpayers!Katie Mcgiveron Republican and very embarrassed about it

  10. How smart can these people be. They don't work, condone stealing, hang from trees, disrespect police, dumpster dive and don't bathe. Racheles so called work history is not verifiable. She's a renter with no skin the game. She bought a house in WPB which she lost due to foreclosure. Why didn't she buy in lw if she thinks this city is so great? You seem to think these anarchists are so smart. You are very wrong.

  11. Your "hometown candidate with hometown values" is neither, so you make up some schlock about sweat equity and real names? How does someone using an alias or posting anonymously affect your blind ignorance in supporting candidates? Who exactly are the "local aristocrats"? I'm hoping I may know one of them so I can see what exactly a Lake Worth "aristocrat" is. Someone that pays their mortgage and is lucky enough to have a job with health benefits?
Lynn after all the nasty, vicious untrue posts you have written over the past couple of months about local residents because they disagree with you, you consider someone calling you a jerk, vicious?

  12. LOL. Everything I write is factual or opinion. You don't like it I gather? Rest easy. Truth hurts. Truth matters. Ask Wes.

  13. Sigh, more anonymous comments. And the contempt for "sweat equity," a/k/a "work." Typical.

By local aristocrats, I mean the Palm Beach and Boca fat cats behind the PBC GOP, which is lining up in support of smilin' Tom R, just like the lawyer/lobbyists lined up for Lisa M in her previous run for office.

  14. I'm a renter. Most of the people here are renters. I am a young guy with a family working towards buying my first home. So, what's wrong with that? You disgust me with all your lies.

  15. Why would anyone want to stop all the good things that have happened in our city? I don't get that at all. A vote for Waterman is a vote for reason.
