Next Sign at the future Jackhammered Shuffleboard Site in Lake Worth?

Comment Up

After the City of Lake Worth jackhammer's the shuffleboard courts because it can't justify the cost to replace the destroyed courts for all the old people and those who enjoy the sport, this will be the next sign they erect on the new landscaping... being a "diverse" city and all. But then again, perhaps they won't, as someone will surely call them racists or give them the finger for not understanding their culture.

Do you remember when Mayor Mark Drautz tried to educate these "undocumented residents" by having a flyer printed and distributed in the high immigrant sections of our city? He was ridiculed and he was tarred and feathered by one political faction here.

Good intentions or not, you can NOT educate these folks. If you could, you would not see cities in South America and in Mexico in total ruination. It is their culture and it has nothing to do with being poor.

Why would City Manager Susan Stanton say such a thing? How dare the city staff do this. Is there some sort of quid pro quo going on--of course, behind the scenes, out of the sunshine?

Replacing our courts with xeriscaping (because it will NOT be grass as the City has something against grass), will only encourage the same activity that has been going on there for the past two years while the City looked on and allowed the tenant to destroy our property. Why didn't we kick them out sooner?

But this is not about the illegals, or is it?

Resurface the courts which is about $4,000 per court and let the shuffleboard enthusiasts continue to do what they've always done in Lake Worth for 80 years, play the game. This will be a Recreational Building, won't it? And I almost forgot, send the bill to The Mentoring Center. Or better yet, send it to those Commissioners allowing this to happen.

  1. Loved your sign. But.......it was not in Spanish so no one will be able to understand it. Hell, they couldn't even understand Drautz's sign language.

  3. It is all these social justice people who really believe that WE owe the world a living. Live and let live is the philosophy. That is crap. Can we take back our city and preserve its history?

  4. When was this discussed in front of the public? It costs MONEY to maintain our public assets. My family and I pay damned high taxes for this purpose! What
s next-our ball fields torn down?Screaming "we're broke" is just Susan Stantons excuse to go around biting things SHE doesn't deem necessary in Lake Worth in the A$$!! We need to get rid of Stanton!!I will not be voting for ANY Commissioner who does not want fire her !!!Were exit interviews done for ANY of the employees that left?(All of the employees in Lake Worth are useless pieces of crap, but it would be interesting to hear what is happening BEHIND CLOSED DOORS)!!!

  5. Why do we have a city and a city government? To be able to govern owerselves the way we want. Here in Lake Worth our government has failed. Our utility company instead of providing us with good service a fair prices holds our citizens and businesses hostage to the higest rates in the State. Our landmarks are closing, our public buildings are falling apart, our taxes are sky high and our citizens must now share their city with illegals that destroy our neighborhoods, attract crime, drugs and prostitution. It's time we either take back our city or accept the fact that the government has failed us. Is it time to become unincorporated Palm Beach County? I honestly believe that most folks would not care so long as things improved.

  6. At least by being a City, we have some control although not much these days it seems. If we went to the County, I believe that Lake Worth will become a dumping ground for all sorts of things for the County. Now we have the opportunity to yell like hell and vote people out. At a County level it would be virtually impossible. We can make a difference if we all sound off to our elected officials. If we don't, expect anything to happen.

  7. There has been a lot of waste by past commissions and city managers. Will we ever make things better?

  8. The immigrants are illiterate, they cannot read in Spanish or even write, they only speak in Spanish, most have never had the opportunity to even go to elem. school.

It is sad our city is closing this building, this is even worse for the west side, just more blight and vacant lots that are uncared for. I was driving around LW a lost yesterday and man it looks bad, very shabby, we need a paint job all over, so much blight, deplorable conditions, and uncared for properties, so much in the south and west, it is looking very bad. What is CM Stanton doing in her job about the codes and blight? What is her plan? What plan does the city now have for the out-of-control illegal immigrant growing population, drunk all over with whore houses popping up on every other corner. My friend told me yesterday that now the prostitutes are even hanging out on the corner of Wright Av and Lake Osbourne Drive. How much worse can it get?

  9. All this has been and continues to happen under the guidance of "the best commission ever" and the city manager "the best commission ever" hired and now won't fire because she can "count to 3". Based on Mcvoy's campaigning to save the city manager she won't be going anywhere anytime soon, and with ghetto goldie, and cluesless who have been ignoring the blight for years, throw in Cara's handpicked successor who's not going to do anything about code or blight so the problem is only going to get worse.

It's never going to get old telling you all I told you so.

  10. Well, I am never going to get tired of telling you how your favored elected commissioners of the past fu**ed up this City--BIG TIME. Also, I am not going to get tired of reminding you that Blockson and L. Maxwell had absolutely NO solutions--only BS complaints. Let's get real.
