You have to wonder if Sun Recycling Company gave any promises of future campaign donations to the Palm Beach County Commission. Afterall, they heavily entrenched themselves in Lake Worth's elections so anything is possible.
Today, in spite of residents' protests as well as Cara Jennings speaking out against Sun, the County Commission voted 5 to 1 with Santamaria dissenting to give Sun a year's extension. The Solid Waste Authority's Staff recommended a 6 months permit. What gives, County Commission? Santamaria said that listening to the peoples' concerns was important. Well, yeah. Where is our County Commissioner, Shelley Vana, when you need her?
Where is that new ethics commission? What a slug.
ReplyDeleteThe entire Osborne Community is a mystery to me. When you have only one former LW Commissioner, Cara Jennings, standing up to the problem and a commissioner who half of them treated like crap, it makes me wonder. Where ARE their advocates? Where are the leaders in that community? The leaders just want a "free" 99 year lease down there. Where is Retha Lowe? Where was she ever in this regard? Where are ALL of their friends who showed their faces in our last local election? What are they doing? Just shows the clout of a garbage business and one that tried to influence our election.
