Trying to beat out Amendment 4, Martin County politicians can join the rest of the State when it comes to bad decisions on growth. Martin wanted to develop five projects spreading out over 9,000 acres and the DCA said "no."
The reasons: "The county fails to show a need for more new homes and lacks adequate roads and water resources. The projects would hurt Everglades restoration efforts. The proposed developments could harm endangered and threatened species as well as pinelands and wetlands."
The Department of Community affairs just
stopped Martin in its tracks.
