Lake Worth High Trojan Players
Last night I went to see the Lake Worth High School Trojan Players production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, an adaptation from the 1967 film depicted above. The original film was nominated for seven Academy Awards and five Golden Globes.
Other than a few sound problems, it was wonderful. There were 40 kids (7 cast members are in the Thespian Honor Society), involved in this play and all were outstanding. Dave Cantley, former principal was there along with two other alumni I recognized: Roberta Stephens and Phil Calcagno, Class of '67.
Lake Worth High is working diligently to bring up all its FCAT scores. Dr. Saltzman, principal, says, "I am confident that our students and staff will continue to rise to the challenges of improving our FCAT scores and to continue to improve our graduation rate. Together we will work to make Lake Worth High School one of the highest achieving schools in Palm Beach County."
With these dedicated and talented kids, I have no doubt the school will succeed.
