Years long search ends up in arrest

Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested one of the agency's most wanted fugitives in Boca Raton on Thursday

Jean S. Dorisca, 48, was wanted in Osceola County on a felony warrant for three counts of vehicular homicide tied to a 2024 crash that killed three people, including his mother. The Florida Highway Patrol's Criminal Alien Apprehension Team located him at a residence on Wednesday and took him into custody without incident during a targeted enforcement operation on Thursday.

Dorisca, a Haitian national and lawful permanent resident of the United States, had been designated as one of the Florida Highway Patrol's most wanted fugitives after evading arrest following the July 16, 2024, crash. Investigators say he tried to pass a semi-truck in a designated no-passing zone on State Road 60 near the Polk-Osceola County line and collided with oncoming traffic, killing three motorists.

FLHSMV Executive Director Dave Kerner addressed the yearslong search after the arrest
“For more than two years, this fugitive evaded accountability for a crash that claimed the lives of three innocent motorists," Kerner said. "Thanks to the relentless work of our Criminal Alien Apprehension Team, Jean Dorisca has been taken into custody and will now face the criminal charges associated with this tragic crash.”
Dorisca was taken to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Detention Center He remained in custody pending extradition to Osceola County, where he faced up to 45 years in Florida state prison and revocation of his legal status as a permanent resident of the United States.
