If the midterm argument is really about your wallet, the numbers aren't close
• 19.2% vs. 7.8%. Cumulative inflation: Biden versus Trump.• 41% higher. Avg. gas prices under Biden versus Trump. Peaked at $5.01 per gallon.
• $1,200 to $2,000. What the typical household loses every year if the Trump tax cuts were allowed to expire.
• 12%: How much stock market growth under Biden lagged behind Trump’s first term.
• Net total energy exporter: Under Trump, the United States reached this status for the first time in 67 years.
You pulled up to the pump this week and watched the number climb past where it should be. A tariff fight with Canada reads more like a family feud than foreign policy. The Oval Office has gone gold, and somebody decided the Kennedy Center needed a facelift. You are allowed to be annoyed.
But do not confuse annoyance with danger. Gold trim is temporary. A worldview is not.
Every election comes down to one question: the vision, not the man. Which side is more likely to advance my prosperity and my security? That is the whole ballot. Everything else is window dressing.
It's not just what their leaders say out loud. It is that their voters actually believe it.
