Trump changed the electorate. McConnell shaped the Senate. Thune now protects the institution that keeps slowing the America First agenda.
The problem is philosophical. Thune supports conservative policies, but he still treats Senate procedure, continuity, and institutional preservation as sacred goods.
MAGA voters elected Trump to change Washington, not manage it with better manners. If Thune cannot dance the MAGA dance, he should be replaced by someone who understands the mandate. [Richard Luthmann]
