The Georgia State Ethics Commission ruled earlier this year that the New Georgia Project and its affiliated Action Fund violated campaign finance laws during the 2018 election cycle. The groups admitted to all 16 violations. They paid $300,000 – a record fine in Georgia history.
Then the New Georgia Project quietly shut down and dissolved in 2025. That's not how innocent organizations behave. The Ethics Commission found that the New Georgia Project raised $4.2 million and spent $3.2 million to support Abrams and other Democrats during the 2018 cycle.
Not a single dollar of it was disclosed. That's not a paperwork mistake. They ran a multi-million-dollar influence operation on Georgia elections and told regulators they weren't doing anything of the sort.
