Trump Threatens to ‘Obliterate’ Iranian Power Plants if Strait of Hormuz Is Not Reopened Within 48 Hours

President Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran on Saturday, warning that the United States would strike Iranian power plants if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened.

The threat marked a major escalation as tensions rose around the vital waterway that carries roughly one-fifth of the world’s crude oil.

President Trump delivered the warning in a Truth Social post on Saturday.

He wrote, “If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST!”
