Park Rangers to patrol Lake Worth Beach Parks

Park rangers could soon patrol Lake Worth Beach parks as city approves $500K safety program

WFLX: Park rangers could soon be a regular sight at some of Lake Worth Beach’s most popular public spaces.

City leaders just approved a $500,000 Park Ranger Program aimed at keeping local parks clean, safe, and family-friendly. The plan, approved at Tuesday night’s city commission meeting, would create a new Park Ranger Division within the city’s Leisure Services Department.

City spending nearly $100K on upgrades to public park restrooms.

Stuart Sword, the city’s director of Leisure Services, said the idea has been months in the making. He describes it as a “cold start program” — the first of its kind for Lake Worth Beach.

“So, the park rangers will initially be at the beachfront, in Bryant Park, in Sunset Ridge, and Howard Park,” Sword said. “Those parks are cumulatively about 30 acres of green space.”

  1. HOW DARE THEY!!! Now law and order will prevent the perverts/homeless/drug addicts from living their life their way. I hope those poor "marganized" citizens are offered a one way ticket to socialist New York where they will be celebrated. (SARCASM)

  3. I think it's a good idea. I hope they are armed. One never knows what is in the park these days. I don't remember Jesus being a big law and order advocate, and I did go to Sunday School.

  4. I doubt it'll help it all anyway honestly like the lifeguards are there too but they never enforce any laws about dogs on the beach or Surfers and swimming areas and these Park Rangers will just be hiding out and not being present where all the problems are so that they don't have to confront them and deal with it that's how the police are today too they're always hiding somewhere so they don't have to deal with all the problems do you ever see anyone giving a speeding ticket today anywhere anymore? Now the police hide they don't like to be present or around or enforce anything on my street cars are going 50, 60, 70 miles an hour and it's a residential area of 35 miles an hour cars are flying by please could make millions of dollars in speeding tickets if they just enforce the laws but nobody enforces laws anymore so I doubt the park rangers will really help at all with this whole situation it's just to scheme to pay and spend more money of news more tax dollars of ours!
