Miami site chosen for Trump's Presidential Library

Florida officials on Tuesday approved the transfer of state-owned land in downtown Miami to serve as the site of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library, clearing the way for the state’s first presidential library.

The 2.63-acre parcel, now used as a Miami Dade College parking lot, sits beside the historic Freedom Tower and was conveyed in a unanimous vote by the governor and Cabinet, acting as the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund.

Gov. Ron DeSantis called the project a “historic” opportunity to house the library in Trump’s home state, while Attorney General James Uthmeier, CFO Blaise Ingoglia, and Agriculture Commissioner Wilton Simpson also voiced support.

With the decision, Florida becomes the 11th state to host a presidential library, joining states such as Texas and California that already maintain similar facilities. Source: Capitalist News

The parcel of land the college gave up is currently a parking lot used by downtown visitors and staff. It sits in a prime location on Biscayne Boulevard, the main thoroughfare of the city center.

  1. Ironically, if they don't straighten out the Immigration situation, there won't be anyone to build the library!

  2. @3:42...Trump has been working on the illegal immigration problem, rounding them up and sending them out of the country. Trump is a builder. He knows who to hire and it wouldn't be illegals.

  3. There are just a few pieces of paper between legal and illegal. Have you ever seen how many men are on a construction site? Did you ever notice that they are not light skinned but sort of light brown? I don't want to insult you, but it's the Mexicans and the Central Americans, who do this kind of work. The sun alone would make the work very difficult for "White Men"!

  4. @7:18...You love to argue. To tell you the truth, I have only seen White men on construction sites but I guess you have seen many more than I. They can wear sunscreen as they have less melanin than brown people.

  5. It's understandable if you don't keep up with these things, because you're not exposed to them. There was a time when all of the Iron Workers in New York were Native Americans. Nobody else could take the heights. I don't know what the situation is today, but I do know that all of the Concrete Restoration going on in Florida, which involves not only high altitude, but extreme exposure to sun and heat, were performed by Central Americans. Many of these restorations are still in progress. Not all Central Americans just came over the border. Some have probably been here for years, but for whatever reason, never had the paperwork done to become legal, or the money to apply for a Green Card. The last time I remember this happening was during the Obama Administration, and it was rather shocking. Now, it's an everyday event.

  6. @7:53...yes, true. Florida law prohibits knowingly employing undocumented immigrants. And companies do that for cheap labor costs. The law does not prevent an undocumented person from working, but rather, penalizes the employer. Whatever happened to E-verify? There are so many illegals in our country thanks to Biden's open border policy, it would be impossible for employers to verify today.
