America has always thrived on healthy debate and differing opinions. It’s what makes our democracy strong, even when those discussions get heated among those who share similar goals for our nation’s future.

And that’s exactly what happened this week when President Donald Trump didn’t mince words about tech billionaire Elon Musk’s surprising new political venture. The former allies appear to have hit a rough patch, with Trump dismissing Musk’s newly formed “America Party” with one clear word: “ridiculous.”

“He can have fun with it but I think it’s ridiculous,” Trump said when questioned about Musk’s third-party launch. “We have a tremendous success with the Republican Party. The Democrats have lost their way but it’s always been a two-party system. And I think starting a third party just adds to confusion.”

Musk needs to get over his temper tantrum.
