Let's talk about fracking
Hey there, folks! Let’s talk about something super important for our country – it’s called fracking. You might’ve heard that word a lot recently, especially with the big election right around the corner.Fracking is all about using some smart technology to get natural gas and oil out of the ground, and it’s really important for states like Pennsylvania where lots of people have jobs because of it.
Now, in the big debate, President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris had quite a chat about fracking. President Trump, who’s always been a supporter of energy jobs, says that Harris wants to get rid of fracking. Back in 2019, she did say she wanted to ban it. But now, she’s saying she won’t ban fracking. It’s got folks wondering where she really stands, especially since one of her campaign advisers recently said she wouldn’t “promote” new drilling.
Let’s get some facts straight! Did you know in Pennsylvania alone, over 400,000 jobs were from oil and natural gas in 2021? If Pennsylvania were a country, it would be among the top gas producers in the whole world! That’s a big deal.
Fracking has been a game-changer for America. It’s helped the country become more energy independent, which means we don’t have to rely so much on other countries for energy. Plus, fracking has helped lower our energy costs and has been part of the reason why our carbon emissions have dropped.
