Lake Worth Beach--Come one, come all--We're #1 Sanctuary City in Florida

Lake Worth Beach is the state’s first LGBTQ+ sanctuary city

LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A south Florida town has become the first in the state to formally declare itself a LGBTQ+ sanctuary city.

In a Lake Worth Beach city commission meeting Tuesday, members voted unanimously in favor of the decision, according to a report from NBC affiliate WPTV.

City council members and advocates cited concerns from the community – namely from parents, educators and students – regarding recently-enacted legislation aimed at LGBTQ+ people. Lake Worth Beach Mayor Betty Resch vowed to work with the city council to create a plan of action supporting LGBTQ+ people and helping them feel safe. Betty loves diversity.

“Unfortunately, we’ve had incidents throughout Palm Beach County. We’ve had incidents here in Lake Worth Beach and to have safe spaces means a lot for people,” Rand Hoch, with the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council. WHAT INCIDENTS?

Read more about this... Elected officials (Democrats for the most part) seem to create problem solvings when no problems exist. This is such BS. Every person is safe in our city (except from actual criminals) but that's not what this decision is all about.

  1. Hopefully DeSantis will see this and shut it down. He should also remove anyone who approved such garbage. This kind of thing can not be allowed in Florida.

  9. It’s a big business many are getting paychecks so you have to manipulate statistics and spread fear. Nobody is getting harassed or intimidated in LWB to my knowledge but I’ve heard gays going after Andy Amoroso more then once, vicious stuff, sad.

  11. I think there are more people pretending to be LGBTQ+ than actually are.

It's just to keep the pot boiling. Surely, there can't be that many people that are nuts!
