Benny's on The Beach

Billboard on I-95

LAKE WORTH BEACH — With its future in the balance, Benny's on the Beach is hoping to strike a deal and keep the historic oceanfront restaurant open in Lake Worth Beach after city commissioners voted down a 10-year lease renewal last week.

"We truly believe 100% that calmer minds will prevail and Benny's will be here," restaurant owner Lee Lipton said this week. "We will do everything in our power, within reason, to make that happen."

Benny's on the Beach has about a month remaining on the lease for its pier location. Lipton said the restaurant's attorney was in contact with Lake Worth Beach's attorney, Glen Torcivia, and that conversations were ongoing as of Wednesday.

  3. If Lipton hosted The View instead of FoxNews the Whack Pack would slash his rent in half! These Marxist are not very bright remember Mulvehills shenanigans with John G’s the points of light holding hands around the building which was totally demolished but THEY said it’s remodeled, total lying freaks!

  4. @8:25...don't understand what you said.
Saving the Casino building was the right thing to do under all the circumstances. I was one of those "whacked" people who joined the Circle of Light.
This post sounds just like Wes, putting certain people into a box. And it sounds like something Democrat would do.
NO one was lying about the casino...just different opinions based on professional expertise at the time.
Benny's is a different situation. The lease was negotiated and 3 commissioners decided to get greedy with a long-time tenant who has put a lot of money into the premises.
Suzanne Mulvehill was not close to being a Marxist...too funny!

  5. If Benny's put a lot of money in the building, it must be in a safe somewhere. He certainly didn't put it into the dilapidated structure, or the furnishings.

  6. He put a lot of money into his restaurant interior...not the building per se. He doesn't own the building, does he? This is a beach restaurant.
It's costing him a lot to do business these days with insurance, cost of food, wages, etc. Maybe you can help the city get a grant to fix up the exterior since you don't like it that much.

  7. Well, if it's costing him that much, maybe he should just close the place up and retire. I can't help him, I have expenses as well.

  8. No one gives a damn about your expenses. What we do give a damn about is saving Benny's.

  9. Well, then you pay for it. You probably can't afford to eat there.

  10. Well we all know the real reason why they want to get rid of Benny's because they broadcast Real America's Voice American Sunrise show there which is a conservative news outlet a maga news outlet a pro Trump news outlet and probably those three commissioners are all Democrats and Trump haters and they don't want them there let's just face the truth that's real, the real reason that one science guy that supposedly is so adamant about all this global warming craze is completely deranged Trump hater he's just become another slave to Satan.

  11. You really think that's the reason, 10:11?

  12. Is that television, or radio? I can't imagine that the hundreds of basically tourists who have breakfast there, are interested in listening to any kind of a broadcast. They are on Vacation!
