I forget when the have their Thanksgiving celebration but they hold it on a weekend so more people can attend...usually before the fact. Thanksgiving is on a Thursday so I would guess it would be the weekend before.
I'm sorry, but that's absurd. The library was closed yesterday. Are they going to close the library again this Friday?
I was being sarcastic in case you didn't pick-up on it. I never heard of having a holiday celebration and closing City buildings a week before a holiday.
I wonder why they are celebrating Veterans Day a week early?
