President Biden unilaterally implemented a student loan forgiveness plan that “will include at least $10,000 in loan forgiveness for borrowers who make less than $125,000 annually, as well as another payment freeze for roughly four months.”
In addition to being unquestionably illegal considering he does not have the power to do this, the plan is a slap in the face to the millions of hardworking Americans who not only sacrificed and saved to pay off their own student loan debts but who will also now have to pay down the debts of others who didn’t.
Elizabeth Warren, two plus years ago...she still believes the government should be paying off student debt...socialism.
I'll be waiting for your rant about the PPP loan forgiveness, Lynn. Or the tax breaks for the rich that Trump delivered. Or maybe the billions that went to farmers to bail them out because of Trump's China policies.
ReplyDeleteI know. I know.
It's different when a Republicans does it.
@7:16. Honestly, I don't know what you're getting at. As a result of the TCJA, high earners paid more taxes to the government, while everyone else paid less. They also paid a larger percentage of all taxes, while everyone else paid a smaller percentage under Trump. The tariffs Trump imposed on China paid for the bailout to farmers...you know, the guys that produce your food. Doesn't compare to forgiving student loan debt.
ReplyDeleteLike I said...it's okay when a Republican does it. There's always a good reason for handing out massive amounts of taxpayer money, as long as it goes to the correct people.
ReplyDeleteAs I said, it was China's money. Get a grip.
ReplyDeleteAmericans who owe a school loan should pay it, not everyone else. Put the student loan program back in the hands of private banks. Then the little deadbeats will see how far they can go without paying.
Oh, and get Biden to get to the root cause of the China virus and get them to pay reparations to the world. You know, the country Joe is in bed with.
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteWhy waste your breath trying to educate the uneducable?
Those dumpstercrats will always blame President Trump for something to deflect from the topic at hand. I think we all need to accept that those people are "special" and we need to just nod and smile.
"Yes 7:16, we understand you are special. Yup, you're right"
People shouldn't be responsible for other people's debt. I agree. Like when a hurricane blows through South Florida, why should the people in Iowa be responsible for helping pay for that damage? Only the communities that are affected should pay. Quit using federal dollars and resources for the debt of local communities. Let them pay it themselves. Disband FEMA now!
ReplyDeleteFEMA has existed in one form or another for over 200 years to deal with national emergencies. The money is used and distributed in different states according to the emergencies that occur in each one. Your correlation between FEMA funds in a natural disaster and forgiving a deadbeat's debt that he/she chose to borrow is like night and day. Not even close. No similarity. FEMA is legal. Joe's student loan foregiveness may not be.
ReplyDeleteTell me you are being facetious 9:15. When you see people with water covering their houses, you think the (frequently), little town should shoulder the burden without the help of a Federal Agency.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, it's not even every water event that is covered by FEMA.
We are called United States for a reason.
I'm still going with, you're kidding!
