Army suspends retired three-star general for abortion tweet sent to Jill Biden
Retired Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky was a former top spokesman for the Army and formerly in charge of the Army’s 101st Airborne Division. For his gallantry in Iraq, he was awarded the Silver Star – the third-highest military decoration for valor in combat. On June 24, the first lady reacted to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade by writing on Twitter: "For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us. And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away."
Read what he tweeted that got him suspended.
Why can't a person say they're pro-life and against abortion and the death penalty? Why can't a person say they do not agree with murdering and aborting innocent helpless voiceless babies? Anyone in any position should be able to State how they feel or their philosophy or their religious beliefs about any social issue affecting all of us it seems really unfair that they attack people this way just for expressing your opinion about a social issue. This impacts a civilized humane society and it's wrong abortion is murder and it should not be allowed in our country and world!
