Rick Gonzalez appointed by Trump

Rick Gonzalez of REG Architects appointed by President Trump

A little bit of triva: In the business section of the Palm Beach Post, I read where President Donald J. Trump designated Rick Gonzalez of Palm Beach, Florida, as the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) vice chairman. Gonzalez was appointed as an ACHP expert member by the President earlier this year with a term ending in June 2023.

If you recall, Mr. Gonzalez's firm is the one that designed our Casino. Other than some major leaks that have now been corrected and might have been the fault of the contractor, our Casino building is beautiful.

One of his signature projects was Mar-A-Lago

  1. Why was the pool and the building surrounding it left as it was? It looks 3rd worldly. Who is responsible for this? Should have bulldozed the whole pool complex and turned it into green space or automobile parking rather then what you gave now which is waste land.

  2. @7:53...what they should have done was repair the pool and let us use it. They did not maintain it for years and let it decay. When they drained the water out of it, the sun and elements ruined it. The city made a terrible mistake. They could have made a decision to rebuild the locker room/bathroom areas. They still want to have a public/private partnership there and hand over our beach park. It's a pathetic management team in Lake Worth that is hell bent on paving over or knocking down our assets. The city owes a lot of money...has a lot of debt right now--that means all the taxpayers are obligated to pay all of these millions off. Maybe they'll come up with an idea to sell the entire city next. :) Omari wants to build on our golf course, one of the last bastions of green space. It's always something with these folks.
