Los Angeles approves to replace Police

It’s Happening! US City Council Approves Motion to REPLACE THE POLICE!

The Los Angeles City Council passed a motion Tuesday to replace Los Angeles Police Department officers with unarmed “crisis response” personnel to be assigned to “non-violent calls for service” such as “neighbor disputes.”

According to NeighborhoodScout, Los Angeles, a sanctuary city, is safer than 12% of U.S. cities. Crime rate is nearly double the national average. And neighbor disputes can be violent particularly in these times.

  3. "Nonviolent calls for service that police officers typically respond to include mental health crises, substance abuse and neighbor disputes."

I think it's a great idea. Frees the police to tackle real crime that endangers the community.

  4. @5:12...you don't think those incidents you cited could be/are dangerous?

  5. Who will ever want to be a policeperson, teacher, or nurse anymore in the USA, the way we treat them all. There is no respect for them, so why would people go into those careers? It really is a sin!

  6. Any call could be/is dangerous. But police don't respond to stray dog calls. Animal control does. Police don't respond to overgrown lawns. Code compliance does.

It lets the police focus on the more substantive, serious criminal activity. It makes sense when you think about it.
