Isn't that wonderful! And just think, another Irish bar is opening in that same block. And then on top of that, the block parties. Have you ever considered how the (State) contributes to drunkenness, drug addiction, homelessness, and then pretends it's trying to solve the problem.
Things couldn't be much worse if we had no government at all. Maybe the anarchists are on to something.
I have a high regard for DeSantis. Hopefully, he will clean the place up.
We should go back to restricted alcohol sales and none on Sunday, the Lord's Day. DeSanto can do it and inforce it if he wants. He has my full support. We need to get back to the old days. They were much better.
The Sheriff has to cave to public opinion, or he is toast. What good is it for him to enforce one law, and then get fired. You see what happened to Broward's Sheriff. Only the Governor has that kind of power. And it's not DeSanto, it's DeSantis. He's Italian.
@6:59--He can't get fired unless he is just not re-elected. Florida’s constitution allows the governor to suspend a sheriff for neglect of duty or incompetence.
The governor has to have a damn good reason--he can't go in and fire someone who was elected by the people in a legal election. In that case one party would be firing everyone who was a member of the opposing party. He was suspended for incompetence and neglect of duty and replaced. He held an elected office so he can run again. Who would vote for the guy?
You're not getting through to me. If it is a suspended sentence, wouldn't it end at some time in the future. Is he suspended permanently? If so, wouldn't that be the same as being fired? I just don't understand how he can run for an office he is still technically in charge of.
Much as I don't like him and don't think he will ever be Broward Sheriff again, I can't blame him for what happened in Parkland. Only the perpetrator is responsible for that. The Sheriff is only the Whipping Boy!

Desanto is going to try his best to clean things up but he needs the next down to inforce things.he cant do it alone
ReplyDeleteThat goes without saying 1:01. He'll have to clean house. Maybe bang some heads.

ReplyDeleteIt was a senior citizen leaving Too-Jays, server mixed up decaf with regular coffee and the driver had 2 cups too many. Tragic!

ReplyDeleteSo you're saying Scot Israel was just suspended? Why is he running for election for Sheriff then?
