Lake Worth Beach getting $1 million to address crime in South End



The department will use the money to hire two new full-time positions and will partner with Barry University for the 36-month project.
LAKE WORTH BEACH — Thanks to a $1 million federal grant, the city’s South End is getting a big boost to help fight crime.

"Lake Worth Beach was ranked the 31st most dangerous city in the U.S. in 2017 with a violent crime rate far exceeding the national average, according to Neighborhood Scout." This is one of the reasons why our present City Commission wanted to change the name of our city so that crimes out of the city limits would not be attributed to us.
