One of rhe few things that works right is Pet Adoption. Ironically, adopting a child is a mine field. Obviously, a pet requires little more than a good meal, and a friendly pat on the head, whereas, a child has all of the emotional and legal baggage to contend with.
I salute these people at the animal shelters, who basically work just for the love of pets.
It would be nice if things could work out better for childern.
