S. 1: Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act of 2019

On Tuesday, 43 Democrats voted against S.1, the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act of 2019 sponsored by Sen. Marco Rubio. S.1 will:

• Sanction the brutal Syrian regime
• Authorize state and local governments to fight back against BDS
• Extend military assistance to Israel
• Reauthorize our defense cooperation with Jordan, another close Middle East ally

Because of Senate rules, 43 votes were enough to prevent the Senate from debating this vital piece of legislation. There is good news, though: Senate Leader Mitch McConnell is planning to bring S.1 to a vote again this afternoon. We only need to convince three more Democrats to do the right thing.

Call now >>>
Peters: 833.416.9977
Smith: 833.416.9978
Booker: 833.416.9980

We need to focus now on three Democrats up for reelection in 2020 - we need to remind them that American voters care deeply about Middle East security and standing with our vital allies in the region. Gary Peters (D-MI) and Tina Smith (D-MN) are headed towards tough reelection campaigns and they are scared of angering their far-left supporters. You can help remind them why they need to be more worried about the majority of Americans who support Israel.

Cory Booker (D-NJ) is up for reelection in 2020, but he also has his eyes set on the White House. While he voted against sanctioning Syria and letting states stand up to BDS last time, the other Democratic senator from his state voted in favor of S.1, and with the will of the people. Booker wants to be President more than anything. He is scared of angering his liberal base. He’s in a tough spot, and you can make it tougher.

Call Senators Peters, Smith, and Booker, and tell them that you’re a voter and you support S.1! Why wouldn't anyone support S1? 43 Democrats playing politics and going against our ally and democratic country, Israel.
