Manatee Lagoon - An FPL Eco-Discovery Center

On Tuesday, Katie and I went to the Manatee Lagoon which opened in 2016. It is an impressive 16,000 sq. ft. facility with hands on-exhibits for visitors to learn all about these protected and unique creatures. The number of manatees is estimated at 6,000 in Florida.

We saw several manatees basking in the warm water outflows from FPL's adjacent Riviera Beach Next Generation Clean Energy Center. Across the Intracoastal we could see Peanut Island.
