Wendy Martinez went out for her every day jog, probably with a joyous heart, thinking about her pending marriage. She was stabbed to death while jogging in Washington, D.C. It was just another random act of insanity happening everywhere in our country. No one is safe today; we are all susceptible to the crazies among us.
Wendy was a 2001 Lake Worth High School graduate. She was a cheerleader, President of the Student council, a winner of the Palm Beach Post's Pathfinder Award and about to become a bride. She was a graduate of FAU and then received her Master's degree from Georgetown University. She worked at the Nicaraguan Embassy and the Organization of American States.
Read about Wendy and someone ending the life of an amazing, intelligent woman with a promising future. She was only 35.
Another case where the media doesn't scream the race of the perpetrator, this is a double hate crime.
