"It's a sad state of affairs when the
legacy of Robert E. Lee, a man of impeccable character and integrity,
has fallen prey to such fierce and vicious attacks. Statues of Gen. Lee
are being protested and taken down, Georgia no longer celebrates his
birthday on the state calendar, streets are being renamed. Where will
this madness end? It's time we say "Enough is enough!" and put an end to
this wholesale destruction of our nation's history and our Southern
heritage.
You would be hard pressed to find
someone in our nation's history with more character, higher integrity,
and a stronger sense of duty than Robert E. Lee. Yet somehow the liberal
mainstream media and politically-correct police have managed to make
many people believe that Lee stood for racism and slavery, when nothing
could be further from the truth. Lee called slavery a "moral and
political evil," prayed for it's abolition, and made many efforts to
unite our country after Civil War ended." [PatriotDepot]
Robert E. Lee was a great General, and a great Leader of men. He would have made a much better president than Lincoln, who had to spend much of his time dealing with his neurotic wife.
