Re: Please sign Condo Reform Bill H 1237 into Law

May 13, 2017

Governor Scott;
I am contacting you in strong support of HB 1237, which will finally bring about much needed accountability in condominium associations and the boards that govern their day-to-day operations.
On behalf of Cyber Citizens, we urge your favorable consideration.

Despite the impetus for HB 1237 being the Miami-Dade County Grand Jury Report, the abuses of power and total disregard of the actual residents and unit owners have been the basis of most of the complaints at DBPR for years. And the horror stories are not unique to South Florida. The behavior of association boards, which HB 1237 seeks to correct, is happening all over the state of Florida.
With Your approval, HB 1237 will bring much needed relief and recourse to the hundreds of thousands of residents in community living in Florida.

Cyber Citizens is the largest and one of only a few organizations, that seek to give a voice to the residents in community living. Our members are not management companies, associations or lawyers. We are the actual residents, and unfortunately, often the victims of the heavy-handed tactics of condominium boards.

Thank you for your careful consideration.

Jan Bergemann, Founder and President
