Tuesday's Commission Meeting

Other than pastor Mike Olive giving the invocation, there is nothing whatsoever going on at Tuesday night's meeting. We will get to hear the PBSO report probably telling us that crime is on the decline

This is what is on the Consent Agenda:

1. Palm Beach is spending a small fortune to underground its utility lines. They want two sections of our beach to erect transformers in order to complete their project. The Utility Easements require the Town of Palm Beach to maintain the Easement Areas and all equipment located therein, including appropriate landscape screening of any visible equipment. And we're going to be good neighbors and give them the easements.

2.  The Task Order with Rosso Site Development, Inc. authorizes the re-paving and striping of the dilapidated parking lot at 1749 3rd Ave South in an amount not to exceed $50,000.

3.  We will be replacing two vehicles in the Refuse Department that have 100,000 miles on them with two new vehicles costing $74,000 with a six year warranty.

4.  The code compliance Department added a new employee thus a new vehicle is needed: 2017 GMC Terrain purchased from Garber Automall, an approved vendor from the State of Florida’s Dept. of Management Services purchase agreement, for a cost not to exceed $26,600.

5.  The City is authorizing the taxpayers pay for the "free lunch. Authorized City of Lake Worth public purpose food and refreshment purchases include,  but are not limited to, the following: . Community-oriented events, meetings and workshops;  Special events, camps and programs; . Economic development special meetings and workshops; and . Employee related activities.

6.  The city has planned for a Plans Reviewer/Inspector for the Building Division but can't find anyone qualified. The city manager wants to hire Hy-Byrd and this requires an amendment to allow for an additional expenditure of $35,000 for a total fiscal year amount of up to $80,000 for plans review and inspection services for Fiscal Year 2017. Remember, this Trio already increased the city manager authority to do what he wants up to $25,000.

We will have a new Benefits Broker. The one we have been using is located in Seattle, Washington.
