Surprised that mcvoy didn't pull through. Now we will have no one who will ask the tough questions. Can you even imagine these people in for three year terms? God awful.

opps - I assumed this post included 3 yr terms and it should be term limits for the future! Selling my LW home was a good decision! Sad to see Chris go but the bullies deserve what they get and so does the electorate that thinks this is a good thing...wait for the 1st disagreement! Maxwell created monsters he thinks he controls!
It will take some time before Maxwell starts to roll his eyes. Give it some time. Laurel Robinson assured me that Herman is his own man. Omari? Who in the heck knows? His Hit piece on McVoy was a bunch of lies so I guess I will be watching him VERY closely. I think it's the city manager we all need to look out for. Right, Mike?
as far as I saw not one of these two are capable of the job.herman is a nice guy but some of his tactics are in question.omari told so many different stories no one knows him.do a background check and be surprised
We've become a corrupt sanctuary city and the people will be sorry the way they voted. We're on the way to being Riviera Beach and we are a dumping ground for all the troubled people.
The comments here are sad. McVoy has done nothing but look out for the interests of a select few. His bosses (Golden and Jennings) are not interested in a city for all people, just their ideologies. They are defeated and people have woken up to see what was going on.
The everyday residents have woken up and the city has been taken back and now has a chance of a decent future.
As for the commission in place now, it will be up to them to show they can govern for the majority of people and the greater good for Lake Worth.
For the low turnout comments - they always favor the incumbent and McVoy in the past. He needed a low turnout. The voters are so done with him that he couldn't hold on even with his large base of support and a low turnout. The people have truly spoken.
I remember at the time you were quoted as saying, "It was close" when talking about your defeat. Actually, you were against the people then too. The heights referendum was won at nearly 56% of the vote or 11.72%... better than what you did with all your money against the people and your illegal sign to boot. As far as it being "null and void," it's still in court. Some of the staff and commissioners are forever pulling fast ones in this city. Thanks for the memory.
The votes for all of them and 3 years came from all the trailer trash renters we have in this city. All the homeowners are buying outside the city and so out of here. This dump is just full of trash and renters, you can have it with all these corrupt politicians.
While I agree with you 3:17, I have to point out that there are some advantages to living in a slum. No.1 It's the slum you know, rather than the slum you don't know. No.2 There is no point in deluding yourself; in the nicer neighborhood, the slum is just around the corner, and it's only a matter of time until you are again living in a slum. No.3 When you live in a slum, you kind of have your ear to the ground so to speak; you know what is going on in the hood, and it makes you a little more street smart than you would be otherwise. No matter how nice the neighborhood is, the people have rotten kids and grand-kids that are just waiting for you to get comfortable enough to let down your guard. You never let down your guard in a slum.
Lynn I post comments on Wes's site a lot and if I have a different view than his he will not post my views but you have always posted so even if you don't agree. I thank you for atleast not censoring based on your own opinions only.
I think with the election results and the recent Post article re possible sale of the Gulfstream we need to again entertain the distinct possibility of our beach being on the privatization chopping block again. Maxwell has a very strong development machine behind him with lots of bucks. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear, after the fact like before, that the gang of 3 and Bornstein are again considering parceling out the beach property to appease the Gulfstream owner. With now 3 year terms and a possible new gang of 5 formed....
Surprised that mcvoy didn't pull through. Now we will have no one who will ask the tough questions. Can you even imagine these people in for three year terms? God awful.

Chistopher was only in office for 4 years. Is that "too long?"

ReplyDeleteMaxwell having to sit next to someone with an arrest record is going to be sweet justice.I can't wait for the show.

ReplyDeleteLynn, Chris was first elected in 2010. He's served 6 years not 4.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected. Thank you

Look, it's time to stop the bashing. You voted McVoy out. Let's see how the new boys do.
ReplyDeleteMcVoy lost by 257 votes so let's not get carried away with the insults.
Lynn, me again. Didn't the now state decision "null and void" height referendum difference was even less than that?

ReplyDeleteMuch is true that 4:51 says but be on alert not to be too confident of one's street smarts, slums never sleep.

ReplyDeleteI follow my policy as much as I possibly can. Elected officials are fair game as long as the comments are not blatant lies @7:02.
