Lake Worth fails to maintain asset

The question that has to come to everyone's mind--why hasn't the city been maintaining our equipment housed in the Pump House located on the western side of the Lake Worth Pool?  The city takes care of its fleet by replacing vehicles after there is no longer any depreciation, so why is there no routine maintenance or routine replacement on our pool equipment?  Who's in charge?

One of the candidates gave an answer to this problem at the South Palm Park Forum--Budget! And it is the Trio commission that approved of the budget without enough money for routine maintenance.

It wasn't even a decade ago when major repairs were done to the Pump House. Following are some of the photos from 7 years ago:

After the city manager hired a consultant on the pool who also is in line to do the work if the commission agrees,  the city now tells us and wants us to believe that our pool would be too expensive to fix...better to tear it down.

It's easier to tear things down.

  1. Why do we constantly have to go through the same crap every few years? Just repair the damn pool.

  3. They have this on the news now that the the City of LW pool is closed and dangerous. I guess the city want the entire community to know, another ploy just to close and never fix it. I agree, these three, the trio are bought by big b to sell off our pool and beach, how very sad. When will people who can vote in this city realize the truth and what these three are really doing. How sad, a sin that they are doing this to our city. The trio and the CM need to go and pack their bags. andy will go down in history as the worst, worse than Romano and Allen, he and scott are two nasty elected who need to pack their bags and get the hell out of this city!

  4. Why wasn't the pool building/locker rooms and bathrooms not torn down and replaced when the casino building was built? The eastern wall looks old and out of place compared to the rest of the property.

  5. You can blame the "best commission ever" and the "best city manager ever" for leaving the old pool area untouched during the "renovation" of the old casino.

  7. Isn't it unethical for the same consultant to be in line to do any work that he is giving an opinion on?

  8. @1:58. We had a $6 million dollar budget for a casino that would cost $8 million. We had NO money for the pool. We had just spent $500,000 on the pool just a few years before that. This does not negate the fact that the city did not maintain our pool and pump house. Obviously, they ignored it totally like they do so many other things.
