Punks Rule - Problems at Lake Worth High

I always said that the kids at Lake Worth High School were polite and respectful, at least they have always been that way at every football game that I attend. But the truth is, Lake Worth High seems to have some problems of which we were not aware.

Just recently a female student attacked an assistant principal by kicking, biting and hitting him. And it was reported that the school has had disciplinary problems with her in the past. What happened to the student? She was allowed to come back to school a few days later. The student should have been transferred out. What happened to the assistant principal? He was transferred to another school with students that are considered high risk...in other words, problem children. He was essentially punished for being attacked by a punk. And the top dog in charge, principal George Lockhart, has been ordered to stay off campus.

Now it is reported that the school's graduation rates have fallen with Lake Worth High School being the lowest in Palm Beach County at 74.9%. A lot of this is due to a high rate of suspensions and/or absences--students getting away with insultingly contemptuous and even dangerous conduct with a little slap on the wrist and their attitude trickles down to all students, some believing it is acceptable behavior in this permissive world. They teach Common Core, so why isn't everyone graduating?

When will school administrators realize that the adults are in charge? The School Board needs to take some serious actions.
