Quote of the Day - Lake Worth Commissioner Andy Amoroso

“We get 10 ODs a week, and two or three of them are dying. If this was Al-Qaeda or a group of terrorists attacking America, we’d be all over it. We’d be addressing it and we’d be throwing money at it. We’re not even touching the tip of it.”

~ Andy Amoroso, Lake Worth City Commissioner and
a member of the State Attorney’s Sober Home Task Force

  2. According to the PBPost, in 2013 Wade was sued by convicted fake pot dealer Dylan Harrison. The Lake Worth store owner claimed he gave Wade $525,000 to buy equipment for the hydroponics store and split profits from the store down the middle. How is that suit coming?

  3. Amoroso ,Mayor Triolo and Commissioner Maxwelll are all to blame for what has happened to Lake Worth. They were more concerned about helping Hudson destroy our beach, destroy John Prince Park and lie (Triolo ) about the thousands of jobs that the park of Commerce would bring. We don't even OWN the park of commerce.Spitting on the heights amendment that the people voted for also delighted them .Instead of holding PBSO responsible for the invasion of our city by criminals, they stuck their heads up their butts and sang Hallelujah!
This is what you idiots voted into office. Congratulations!
The neighborhoods are having to band together to help themselves. Anything good in this city is due to their efforts. Out here in Lake Osborne we had to fight for two years to get signs re-posted around the Lake to stop parking between the hours of Sunset and sunrise. We worked with a neighborhood assoc not even in Lake Worth. Little free libraries? Mary Lindsey. Home cleanups? Robert Waples and neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Amoroso has a LOT of nerve complaining about drugs.

  4. Let them die Andy. They can't be helped, they're terminal. Spend your time and effort on the living.

  5. Throw money at it? How's that going to work. This needs to be stopped at the Federal level, take the profit out.

  6. Andy, for you to compare ISIS to a bunch of addicts who voluntarily stick needles in their bodies, shows what a low level intellect you really are. Since you are a part of the "task force" why don't you get us some statistics on how many of your precious junkies who spend time in the sober houses, actually kick the habit. This plague is another indirect result of "everybody gets a trophy".

  9. We have to vote Andy out---he only went in because his business is failing and he needed money

  10. Andy has failed like his failing business

  11. We don't know that his business is "failing." He has been there for years. Public figures are fair game but please, unless you have proof of this allegation, knock it off, ok? In my opinion, Andy is engaged with this city and seems to be doing a good job. I just don't agree with some of his MAJOR votes or his "connection" with Dylan and accepting campaign money from him.

  12. Idiotic to compare a lowlife addict costing taxpayers unlimited monies for the drug our responders are obliged to save them with AND tieing up the ambulance services which are needed for legitimate emergencies to terrorists. There's no correlation.

  13. The Post proves itself a fish wrapper once again by publishing this ignorant quote. That and the race baiting Leonard Pitt column he and his massive chip on the shoulder are divisive. Isn't having a cushy job enough?

  14. I should hope we'd be all over it if it were terrorists. That includes tip touching. As for the overworked medical examiner office: bag it and call it what it is: suicide. No need for atopsy when its obviously an OD.
