This is great that the city is going to do a pick up of Hurricane debris on October 8th. MANY OF US THAT WERE FORCED TO EVACUATE did not return to our homes until yesterday afternoon and did not get a chance to utilize this service. Many went north or west and could not return home until yesterday. What happens with our stuff.
ReplyDeletePoor timing on Lake Worth's part but what else do you expect. They didn't even clean up the streets in Lake Worth or the city owned properties. Go figure!!!! Did you know also, that Lake Worth has no place for immediate evacuation in LAKE WORTH. You are required to go to West Palm or Boynton. Many of the people in Lake Worth do not have transportation to do this nor do many of the seniors in Lake Worth. Better planning for the future is desparately needed. Why should we have to go to another town to get protection from storms. And you wonder why people stay in their homes during situations such as storms. Once again the city does not respect it's residents. I am sure that the majority of the commission had safe places to go. I do commend Commissioner McVoy who tired to work with us in finding a closer place to our homes to evacuate.
