Urinetown - The Musical
The Lake Worth Playhouse says: A surprise winner of three Tony Awards this hilarious musical written by Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis is a satire of the legal system and a love letter to musical theatre itself!
Urinetown provides a fresh perspective of one of America’s greatest art forms. In a Gotham like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought has led to a ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom…hilariously funny and touchingly honest.
Now at the Lake Worth Playhouse through October 23.
It's not a question of whether you have compassion for them, it's a question of what can you do about it. We don't have a place like Miami Rescue, or Broward Outreach, two fantastic organizations that really help these people. Compassion and $2.00 will get you a cup of coffee.
