Fans should boycott NFL over protests

Most all American citizens recognize and agree with freedom of speech and peaceful protest given to us in our Constitution.

Kudos to longtime Dolphin fan and World War II veteran John Jordan for The Palm Beach Post article, “Anthem protest rankles WWII vet, fan: I’m done with the Dolphins” (Sept 13), saying he will not watch and will boycott the Dolphins.

I feel that the overwhelming majority of NFL fans do not support the movement started by Colin Kaepernick and then followed by other NFL players, not to stand at attention for the national anthem. Maybe now would be a good time for NFL fans to show their disapproval by boycotting games, NFL products and companies that advertise on NFL games.

  1. It is truly one of the great mysteries of America that folks who are outraged by an athlete exercising his 1st Amendment rights are not bothered voting for a guy who is cavorting with the Russians and praises Putin, derides a POW hero and calls America stupid.

God bless, Richard Briant and those like him. Here's hoping that one day there will be some consistency and a whole lot less irony in their lives.

  2. Colin Kapernick knows nothing about America and patriotism. He used this "slap in the face" with a decision not to stand for the national anthem during the 49ers game with the Green Bay Packers which was brought about by his allegiance to the terrorist group Black Lives Matter.

This first Amendment is his excuse to be an over-paid disrespectful whiner. It's time that the fans bring him to HIS knees.

  3. I used to be a Dolphins fan - no more. These cry-bully millionnaires have no idea that the target of their so-called protest is the symbol of the country that is paying the their millions. I am not a huge consumer so my protest is minor: I do not watch the NFL and I stay away from sports bars during NFL games. And, the Goodall, the coaches and team owners need to grow a pair!

  4. "It's time that the fans bring him to HIS knees."

Not sure what you mean there. Given your track record here I suppose anything is possible. Just leave it the imagination, right?

So you basically repeated what the letter writer said. You, and probably Mr. Briant, are enthusiastically supporting Trump, a candidate who has show the anti-American tendencies that I listed. I'll repeat: not sure how you can despise one and cast a vote for President of the U.S. for the other.

But you and Mr. Briant will do just that. And not even realize how one doesn't match the other.

  5. LOL 7:49.
I don't need to repeat what the letter writer said. This had been my opinion all along.
Take your Hillary BS somewhere else. LOL. You people slay me. Being so anti-American and all.

  6. yes it is their constitutional right to be able to disagree and not stand, but
our Military men and women who are fighting for that freedom have the right to
disagree and boycott the Dolphins, which I will be doing and probably be boycotting the NFL. Mr. Annonymous I think you are showing your colors when you vote for
a Criminal, a liar over A Man who loves his Country enough to run for President
and bring this CORRUPTION TO AN END. DONALD TRUMP knows more about Politics then
you know. Thank God he is running.

  7. You're voting for a man who is cavorting with the Russians.

You're voting for a man who has maligned a POW and national hero.

  8. Your shilling for a woman who was hacked by Russians revealing her 22,000 e-mails and how she used the Clinton Foundation to accept bribes from foreign governments. This should have lead to an arrest and criminal conviction of Hillary. It's no wonder why she says Putin is another Adolph Hitler.

Are you talking about John McCain? I believe that he supports Trump. Aren't you the guys always standing up for freedom of expression? :)

  9. Cavorting? That's a stretch , better than being in bed with the Saudis. Wake up college girl.

  10. Here's what you need to understand, Anonymous at 7:01: We are tired of the Democrats. I don't care that Trump is cozying up to the Russians. I could care less that he calls America stupid because we are. Let Trump slam veterans...it's a lot better than having another Democrat in office. If we have a nuclear war, I know it will be for a good reason under Trump and I will support him no matter what he does. The people who support Trump are doing so for no other reason than we hate Democrats and who they are. Call it an F U vote, okay?

    Understand?

  11. For the record, Trump has never slammed veterans. he took a crack at John McCain. He is all for supporting our military, allowing them to do their jobs and doing everything possible for veterans and their welfare.

  12. @7:19. A few Veteran groups slammed Trump. Kahn and friends slammed Trump. Nothing liberal about me, anonymous.
Regarding Va hospitals, Trump said that over 300,000 veterans died waiting for care. Corruption and incompetence were excused. Politicians in Washington have done too little too slowly to fix it. This situation can never happen again, and when Donald J. Trump is president, it will be fixed – fast
