Peters Development has a big presence in Lake Worth

Comment Up

The Taco Lady is out and a new restaurant is in that will have a Mayan theme serving Guatemalan and Mexican food.

"Peters Development owns more than 25 properties in and around downtown Lake Worth, including the old South Shores Tavern and Patio Bar on Lucerne Avenue. That restaurant, billed as Lake Worth’s favorite playground, closed last year after it was sold.

Peters, 22 years of age, said her company has a pending deal with a Delray Beach group which operates a restaurant on Atlantic Avenue to lease the old South Shores Tavern site. She declined to discuss specifics or name the group since the deal isn’t finalized, which should happen in a week."

She won't name the group wanting to lease South Shores.  Could it be Hudson Holdings? You just never know.

Read about it...

  2. It could be the group that has City Oyster. It would seem that those folks know what they're doing as that restaurant is very successful and has been there a long time.

  3. There's also the group that has Max'sHarvest. Then there's Gary Racks Restaurant Group, Rapoport Group- lots of group-owned restaurants there.

  4. Who cares who leases it, I would rather see something in South Shore, than yet another empty building, and while we are at it lets hope they also go after the Rotellis property.

  5. FYI The former Rotelli's building 701 Lake Ave is under contract with a new owner/operator and Southshore/502 Lucerne has a lease deal pending. Also 1 S. Dixie/former Suntrust is under contract and will have a new owner in August. Lots of new interest in Lake Worth!

  6. Well Lake Worth is the last resort in a way. Maybe it will end up being the best of all!!

I don't care who moves into these places either; it's just fun to speculate.

Still doesn't make me want the Braves in JPP.
I don't care how tall the Gukfstream is either, but I don't live near it and it's not my call.

Let's get this ball (but not a baseball) rolling!

  7. Anon at 10:07 why not let the baseball into JPP lots of revenue for Lake Worth, as well as jobs. Every time I have been to the park ( at least once a week for the last 20 years ) it seems to me the park is totally under utilized, just like the Golf Course.

  8. Because this is a park, not corporate welfare that every taxpayer will be paying for...$100 mil plus? Who is this, Shelley? God how I hope she loses here election. :)
And obviously you don't go there very often if you can't see how the park is enjoyed by people from all across our county. It won't bring any revenue for LW--NONE.

  9. And Lynn, that's just the way YOU want it, or you don't give a damn, to hell with Lake Worth, YOU do not really care unless there is a chance your Taxes may go up.

  10. 12:46--that has to be one of the more stupid statements I have ever heard. Where do you people come from?

  11. I want SOUTH SHORES back!! Nothing else will do. Don't want $9 beers or $20 appetizers. Don't want valets hanging out on our streets all evening, taking up our parking spaces. Don't want hostesses in tiny skirts, and crappy club music. Just bring it back the way it was! Same great food, great music. And Karine!

    1. Then you should buy it, and reopen it and make it your own

    2. OMG… If all these restaurants open up where are we going to park? We need a parking garage downtown

  12. 11:25--I truly believe that the park will be even more valuable to the residents in a few years than it is now. Progressive cities are keeping as much green space as possible. Not many places have a booming downtown and then a spacious park nearby. I think it will greatly add to Lake Worth's value and desirability in the future.
So sick of people against the Braves being called "naysayers".
