City of Lake Worth POLITICAL Advisory Board Appointments

Comment Up
A blast from the past--
Example of "dirty tricks" to confuse the voters.
(A reminder how important board appointments are
and how the will of the people can be diverted through deception)

New Volunteer Political Board Appointments:

Planning and Zoning Board:
Mayor’s reappointments of Greg Rice and Anthony Marotta both for a term ending in July 31, 2019. (Greg was in the Friends of the Gulfstream PAC as treasurer to defeat the Heights amendment...every nasty trick in the book was used but they still lost)
Vice Mayor’s reappointment of Dustin Zacks for a term ending in July 31, 2019.
Commissioner McVoy’s appointment of Tara McAlonan to the fill an unexpired term ending in July 31, 2017.

Historic Resources Preservation Board:
Vice Mayor’s reappointment of Judith Just for a term ending in July 31, 2019.

Finance Advisory Board:
Mayor’s reappointment of Sherry Canterbury Schmidt for a term ending in July 31, 2019. (She was the gal on the secret ITN Committee that wanted to hand over our beach to Hudson Holdings)
Vice Mayor’s reappointment of John Szerdi for a term ending in July 31, 2019. (He is an employee of Hudson Holdings)

Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals:
Commissioner Maier’s appointment of Ryan Paplow to fill an unexpired term ending in July 31, 2016 and reappoint for another term ending in July 31, 2020

  1. Sneaky is right. I voted for a low-rise downtown. Now I wonder if I voted the right way. I would have voted the opposite of Wes.

  2. Thanks for the reminder and about the rice guy. I agree with you and he is one of the worst in this city, so corrupt and vile, very despicable to say the least. They should put term limits on people who serve on those boards too. Lynn is there any way you can find out if rice paid to have his buildings demolished at 1306 and 1320 Lucerne Ave or did the city or we the people pay to have that blight cleared? He was trouble. It would not surprise me a bit if that no good for nothing rat had us pay for his blight and problems at that location. I have no respect for rice or the current commission or city manager, corruption and greed are so real and vibrant in this city with vile people like them. rice is thee worst!

  4. John Rinaldi was Chairman of P & Z and was kicked off for being against the bond. If I remember correctly none of his friends on the commission would reappoint him and left it to McVoy to do the dirty work. Don't rock the boat if you want to keep your seat on a board.

  5. Does the Fiance Board have to fill out financial disclosure forms like the planning boards? Are they available for the public to see?

  6. Appointees are those who they want to have had exposure before they run against Christopher and Ryan next March.

The 3 year term proposal will give them more bang for their bucks for their candidates.

The Commission is a corrupt bunch and bow-tie works in tandem with them out of the sunshine to facilitate their sleazy agenda.

  7. So sad Lynn, that building at 1306 Lucerne Ave was so beautiful and historic I am sure. Too bad that man never took care of it and let it get so blighted and holes in the roof. I thought we had a historic preservation board in this city to protect old buildings and our history some here? Who is on this board that allowed them to take the beautiful beautiful building down? There seems to be so much corruption and collusion here in this city don't you think Lynn?

  10. mr rice, actions speak louder than words do. If you really are "somebody," then be ethical and upright and do the right things, but you haven't, you don't, you may be somebody on TV or with all your money, but fame and fortunate do not make you better than the rest of us. It is not "too" late. If you are so important then more people would really respect you, like Gandhi, Mother Teresa, or MLK are respected, I doubt you will ever go down in history for being someone like that. Greed, corruption, yes even collusion, being unethical I am not sure they make one important. Someone like Lynn Anderson or Katie M are more respectable and who really care about our city and society.

  11. So are you saying that there were never "political" appointments before when Golden, Mulvehill, McVoy and Waterman ran things? How about Peter Tsolkas for the Community Relations Board? How did that work out?
