Super great. I'd really love to see the pool open in the afternoon and/or evenings when working people could use it. I'm hoping these additional few hours will lead to more?
Unbelievable. These pool hours suck. Summer is here and our pool should be fully open for all of our kids to use.Not to mention all of the summer camps that would pay to use our pool. Our pool should be open 9-5 Monday-Thurs. and 9-9 on Fri. Sat. and Sun. None of our Commissioners even have children. Commissioner Scott Maxwell has a grown son and he's already foolishly stated that we don't need our pool to be open because "everybody already owns their own pools." This city can spend over 250,000 for a building so that Scooby Doo and the gang can have their clubhouse back to hang out in ,but they continue to hold our pool hostage. Jerks!
The pool really should be open more in the summer. Drowning in the leading cause of child death in Florida, let's get our pool open so that more kids can learn to swim and be water safe.
Why not have the pool open in the afternoon/evenings? Even if they just did two mornings and one afternoon/evening during the week, that would help us. My little one is learning to swim and guess what, I don't have a pool. It would be great if we could practice at the pool during the week.
What about people that work during the day? I'm one of them and I would love to be able to use the pool in the evenings with my family, especially during summer. Everybody talks about the kids, but the truth is that Lake Worth has a huge ADULT population which cannot swim.Lake Worth needs to start having adult swim classes available in the evenings at our pool.
I agree with all comments. I'd love to swim in the evenings after work. Also, it seems silly that this gorgeous pool isn't being used more during the days for children's camp programs. The city could be making money with this.
It cost money to operate the pool. Money is not in the budget for more pool hours. Why not ask McVoy and Maier why they didn't want more money to go to operate the pool... They voted it down. Glad to see more lifeguards on the beach though... They are saving lives.
It really disturbs me when people like you, anonymous at 7:05, come over here and LIE. And that is the trouble. You lie and people believe it. The night the budget was set,the motion passed on a 3/2 (McVoy and Maier dissenting) to approve the $178.9 million budget. There was a lot of politics being played by Maxwell that night and bad decisions were made by the Trio.
Please open the pool in the afternoon/evenings. We have been asking for years now. I pay a ton in taxes, I'd like to get something back in the way of services.
Sally is an amazing woman & friend. Im pleased to see her back @ LW Pool
