Quote of the Day - Harry S. Truman

Comment Up

“That bomb caused the Japanese to surrender, and it stopped the war. I don’t care what the crybabies say now, because they didn’t have to make the decision.”

~ President Harry S. Truman

Obama's visit to Japan and what he said was a total betrayal to our country, appeasing a mortal enemy who started the war by bombing Pearl Harbor killing over 2400 people and slaughtering thousands more, is a disgrace beyond forgiveness.

Threatened by starvation and disease, the Japanese marched 75,000 Fillipinos and American troops on Bataan known as the death march. 10,000 did not survive. Those who did survive, were shipped off on death ships to brutal prison camps.

After the war, the Japanese general in charge, Homma Masaharu was executed by firing squad for war crimes. Thank God for General Douglas MacArthur who understood that the Japanese army followed the samurai code of Bushido, stipulating that surrender was dishonor. They were never going to surrender. Japan waged war on us and MacArthur won the Pacific.

On this Memorial Day, we remember all those who died for this country. It's incomprehensible that Obama continues to undermine our country and its values at every opportunity and chooses to forget what happened here.

Let's Make America Great Again.

  1. Amen.Maybe it's time to add another prerequisite to being President of the United States; service in our Armed forces.Because the ONLY thing that this country owes it's citizens is to keep us safe. Nothing else.

  2. Obama never said he was apologizing.
There is nothing wrong with our leader visiting here.
    Distortions do not equal fact.
But do play well to the base and to anger.

On this Memorial Day I hope as Americans we can put
aside the radical partisan heated rhetoric long
enough to honor our brave troops who fought for
their country period. Not political parties left,
right, or middle. Love of country is just that.
Partisan politics is just that too.

I think the former is why this holiday was instituted.
I do admire your passion for love of country.
I share that. Hopefully we all share that and the
right to express both our appreciation and our
    differences.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day with family and
friends and honoring those who's sacrifice makes this
    possible for all of us.

  3. My mother lived through this war. It's one thing to read the history books. But the experience is a bit closer reality. I've never forgotten one thing she said that doesn't usually occur to us looking back on history. Mom seldom if ever cussed. But she said: "They came damn close to winning."

I shudder to think what world we would have inherited then...

  4. George Bush Sr attended Emperor Hirohito's funeral as did many world leaders when he died even though he was once the enemy.
