And to think that our Palm Beach County Commission wants to hand over--for free--100 acres to the Atlanta Braves to bulldoze, build a stadium for $110 million that we will have to greatly subsidize and allow them to devastate our public park. Shocking. And even more shocking is that our Trio Lake worth commission of Maxwell, Triolo and Amoroso approve.
Amen. Braves, go somewhere else. Vote County out of office. Vote Drew martin in.
ReplyDeleteIt's a crime to destroy any of this park period. And very short sighted as many from all over come to JPP. Just last week talked with a young couple from Delray with their child. They go elsewhere because Delray is now ruined with overdevelopment and gridlock. The more overdeveloped we become, the more we need natural places to restore our humanity and balance.
ReplyDeleteI am not shocked at all that the trio voted for this. I rather imagine they, and especially Scott Maxwell, were the instigators. This bears his hallmark MO of confiscating public property for private use. Whether it be our beach or our parks. It's obviously payback time: $130,000 can buy a majority commission. I would like to see him prosecuted for crimes against nature and the people of Lake Worth. We should not be up for sale to the highest bidder, especially a billionaire ball club. It's a crime to destroy the diversity of wildlife there which is a very beautiful and self sustaining ecosystem of 80 years duration.
