The Slaughter in Lake Worth - The big Lie that worked

Comment Up

The Lake Worth election was driven by FEAR by the three incumbents.  They told us that anarchists would take over our city if we didn't vote for them---a candidate who was a cop hater.  I don't know the context of anything said by Mr. Hartman as no details were given by the Gang of Three and their hit men that ran with his comments supposedly lifted from his personal Facebook page prior to his running for office. But this Gang of three knew exactly what button to push and boy did they push it.

They even convinced the Police Benevolent Association. You would think those guys would want to get the whole story even if police have been convicted of abuse or killing innocent citizens from time to time. An eight page hit piece hit our mailboxes loaded with lies and hate with supposed remarks from Ryan Hartman.  "Trigger warning," Fuck the police," Our local police department I don't like them," were some of the remarks that the Trio sent out to all of the registered voters in Lake Worth.

They condemned his new look and went so far to produce a page on a hate mailer called the Root$ of Evil condemning all of the challengers. At the root of their tree was this blogger, Cara Jennings and Jo-Ann Golden, the nicest person in this world. They combined all of the challengers into one for all to fear with them raising $127,000 from outside interests to do it.

It wasn't all about the money--Fear was the major theme of the Gang of Three's campaign...if you don't reelect us, our city will get in the hands of anarchists and go "backwards." It's not a new theme but how they implemented it in this little city was.

It was the BIG LIE that worked and all that hate and vitriol that AnnaMaria claimed, was wrapped into one disgusting lying election campaign by three incumbents. If there is one "anarchist" running, they must all be the same. It was brilliant but it was dark, heinous and immoral.

  1. Most of us all love the police. Anyone challenging the PBSO was evil and they let the electorate know. You are right when you said that fear was their number one focus.

  2. Hartman had a history that was not going away. A few weeks before he decided to run he appeared at a commission meeting to support the homeless. He was dirty and looked homeless himself. A few weeks later he was all cleaned up and running for a seat on our commission. Your decision to support this nut cost your side the election. It showed that you would support anyone. You could be a hard line conservative and at the same time support one of the most radical guys in the city. In politics you expose the extremes of each candidate. The decision to support Hartman was the biggest mistake ever made by your side and it showed the majority of the voters that you had to be stopped. The voters came out in droves to stop this guy and the other unknown candidates that had no solutions to any problems faced by the city. The message was clear: we want candidates that represent the majority of us who want growth. Trying to stop the Gulfstream over a few feet of height did you in. Trying to blame the pot holes and crime on this commission did you in. We all feared that we could go back to the crazy days when Golden and Jennings represented their limited interests at the expense of the majority. We won't let that happen again.

  3. Well you won in a landslide and as I said, through fear and intimidation. Your politics on local issues (it probably is on the national level as well)is the polar opposite of mine and blaming everything wrong in this city on two former commissioners is just plain nuts. You used Hartman as your whipping board. You did your job at the expense of some really nice people who had nothing to do with Hartman. They weren't running as a group as your candidates were.

I hesitated in giving him a contributions but after I had talked to him, I realized that his comments were made in the heat of the moment. We all make comments that we regret. I liked him and he would have worked within the laws and represented the people. He's a pretty sweet guy, actually.

Now we will get to listen to this Trio for another two years. Let's see what they implement next, all for "growth."

  4. @anon 907. May I rephraze what you said? I think what you meant was, "Most of us (middle and upper class white people) all love the police. Anyone challenging the PBSO (or showing concern for the unarmed people of color who are killed by the police every day) was evil and they let the electorate know (some of the information). You are right when you said that fear (shared by middle and upper class white people) was their number one focus."

    Thanks

  5. I can't say it any better than 9:43. Excellent.

But.... " They combined all of the challengers into one for all to fear with them raising $127,000 from outside interests to do it."

    This is beyond an exaggeration.

Plenty of local residents and businesses contributed to the trio. I am one.

Can't let this simmer down can you?

  6. Why did you respond? Simmering down?
Your opinion is worth as much as mine.

  7. I am a white person and while I generally support the police I am seriously concerned about all of the cases of unarmed people being shot by police - people who are black and white and Hispanic. There have been too many of these in just the last couple of years. If you have been paying attention and you are willing to be honest, then you must see that there is a problem. We have to know that we can call the police for help and when they arrive at our home, they will not shoot us or our family members who pose no threat to them.

  8. We now have another catch phrase - "in the heat of the moment" - to go with others like "I misspoke." Hartman's "in the heat of the moment" excuse was nothing but Cara Jennings and Joann Golden trying to explain away all the social media posts Hartman had made over years. All the screen shots from Hartman's Facebook pages under his own name and then under Joseph Parmalee sank that plan. He tried to say all the comments were made when he was younger which wasn't true.

  9. Slaughter? Really a slaughter? Using over the top hyperbole also cost you the election.

    1. Unbelievable. ... I do not understand with such disdain for those who try to improve a city we all want to continue living in, why you remain? Each day I search your blog for some glimmer of light that may still be alive inside of you but it appears there is none. Your only positive post is the sun coming up or going down. You attend every meeting, spend all of this time why? What is your solution? How would you achieve the needed changes and improvements that are needed withing Lake Worth? How about a day of good things about the residents. ..your neighbors. ..the hard working people in Lake Worth?

  11. 11:02--you guys really don't understand much.

It was a SLAUGHTER--you won by a huge landslide.

I wish it was all hyperbole...your big word for the day.

  12. There is no context that can make right the call to murder public servants for any reason.

  13. Hey 3:58--when I find something good that this commission has done, I will write about it. In the meantime, if you want a lot of fluff, go to that artist's blog who believes everything is just wunnnnerful!

  14. The people who have to come up with workable solutions that the residents should approve are our elected officials, not private citizens. Lynn Anderson is not an elected official. She reports on what is going on. How about coming to the Hat Luncheon and give your money towards poor kids who want to go to college instead of complaining when someone has a different opinion on all the shit going on in this city.

  15. Lynn is our glimmer of hope and light and it is still very much alive in her and us. You just can't stand the fact that she knows how to tell the truth. We remain so that we can hopefully make the other people aware of your deceitful ways and hopefully open their eyes to the corruption of the trio. We may have lost the battle but we have not lost the war. If you read Lynn's blog you would see that some people have offered solutions to which none of you replied to. You just pick and chose what you want to say and nothing is ever positive in your replies either.

  16. Glad you were all able to obtain all of your information about Hartman off of Facebook. Anyone knows that people express opinions on Facebook in the heat of the moment. Check out the teenagers, young adults (maybe even your own) and see how they often say things that they don't even mean at the time. BUT I do have a question. What right did you have to take the personal emails from the person from Palm Beach Mobile Home Park and Diane Jacques and try to distribute it to others. Those were PERSONAL emails and then you tried to make it look like we were doing something evil. By making it look like Diane wrote those emails and the letter regarding our concerns you insulted us. Publishing incorrect information in the Post and the Lake Worthless Herald you made us look like we were stealing services from the city. Well I have another question for you all. What happened to the $162,201.60 that we had paid to the city for waste removal that you have no record of. We paid it,(we have the invoices and the account numbers) where did it go? Jason, from waste management, actually had to come and get copies of these invoices even after we gave them the invoice numbers. No one else seems to be able to give us the answer to this question.
Then you have the nerve to accuse us of robbing the city. (This is the amount that you stated we did not pay since 2009)You also stated the Park was rezoned in 2009 and in actual fact it was rezoned in 2013. (We also have the proof of that information. You could not run and honest campaign if your lives depended on it.
