Quote of the Day - Mobile Home Park HO Association president speaks out

Comment Up

"All notices from the City of Lake Worth are published in the Lake Worth Herald and not in the Palm Beach Post.

The Lake Worth Herald's owner is in the pocket of The Trio. Maxwell admitted at the protest that he doesn't read the Palm Beach Post that he only reads the Lake Worth Herald [for news]. That should tell you enough. The Post reports the news; the Herald reports only what they want to have posted. As it is a low reader paper that is how they got away with what they did to the mobile home park and God only knows what else."

~ Jerri Greene
President of Palm Beach Mobile Home Park Homeowner's Association

  2. When the Commission changes, one of the first things that need to change is the city putting all notices in the Palm Beach Post. No more notices in the seldom read Herald.Katie Mcgiveron

  4. the law states that an announcement has to be printed in a local paper, it doesn't say which one or how many readers it has to have, the letter of the law was met. come on people......

  5. Anon at 3:03, I didn't say the city was breaking the law by using the Lake Worth Herald to publish it's notices. It's just that in the interest of transparency and keeping the public informed,VASTLY more people would have access to the notices if they were published in the Palm Beach Post vs. the Lake Worth Herald. Why settle for a goat cart when you could ride in a Ferrari ? 6. How many more people would comb through the PB Post legal notices? Sure much bigger circulation but does anyone think that the residents of the park would have gone through all of those tiny legal notices and found the publication. Me thinks not. Let's stick to real facts and if anything was improperly done. In the case of the publication all was legal.

  7. Some notices ARE legally noticed in the PBPost but the Herald is the paper of choice for two reasons:
    1. Cost
    2. Good ole boy status

  9. NO assumption to it--
William Waters says it is "cost."
