Palm Beach Mobile Park and Mayor Pam Triolo

Comment Up

Back on November 10, 2015, the City acquired some land for rights of way. One of the land owners was Palm Beach Mobile Home Park LLC.  The city needed and wanted this land for their Park of Commerce infrastructure project which is pouring $11 million into it this year.

So, if you want something, you can legally take it by Eminent Domain. Eminent domain is where the government can (and does) seize private property for public use - to build a road, a school or a courthouse.  Now, in cities across the country, governments are also seizing land for private use if they can prove that doing it will serve what's called "the public good." And this reminds me of what former commissioner Nadine Burns said years ago regarding the senior condos along Lake Osborne Drive. She thought the property wasn't being used for its best use. When you get officials who believe that way, no one's property is entirely safe from government land grabs.

Although out on 7th Avenue North and Joyce Street  was just a small piece of private property, the city said that the acquisition of the three (3) parcels involved will be used to address required corner clips for improved turning radius.

I believe that Eminent Domain in this instance was used for future private development, not the public good.

As part of the negotiations to acquire the properties and the eminent domain proceedings filed by the city, the owner(s) incurred legal fees for this land grab. The City is responsible to cover those legal fees in addition to the actual appraised value of the land. The total cost for the three (3) parcels including the legal fees incurred by the owner(s) is $41,637.50.

This is just another step by the city to cause concern for all those who live in the park.  It is the city that is instilling fear with the Senior residents who live there. And now they have the garbage incident.

This is a MUST read. The highly charged political letter by Pam Triolo to the residents of Palm Beach Mobile Home Park.

  1. I saw the story about the seniors protest on the news, but did not know what was going on until I read your blog today. No wonder they are angry. Our seniors deserve respect. I'm going to make sure all of my friends and neighbors know about this and vote accordingly.

  2. Do you possibly believe that the mayor believes all this crap that she spouts? She has been led around by the other bully for so long she has become dull. Andy sits there and just votes with them.

  3. Remember when Retha became the voice of the African American community. She managed to get them a gym and now a pavilion. Perhaps Jerri can be the voice for senior citizens who have lost their voice in this city and have had no clout. Think of what this city has done to them--no trolley, no senior center, no shuffleboard courts, no use of the building to play cards anymore, no garbage pick-=up, just grief..

  4. It's right in her name- this "low trio" of Maxwell, Amoroso, and Triolo will lie as much as they think necessary to keep citizens in the dark and retain power.

Vote Jacques, Hartman, and MacAlonan on March 15th

  9. I really like the term buy 11:o5. "Low trio" is right.
NOBODY did,or had to, tell Ms. Greene ANYTHING ! Ms. Greene is one sharp cookie !
The only entity spreading lies and fear is the city of Lake Worth through their very real actions against the people of this mobile home park. And Pothole Pam, part of the "low trio" indeed!

  10. I'm amazed the Mayor has the nerve to send out a letter like that white washing everything they are presently doing. Do they think people are that stupid and will buy that bird chit?? What improvements have they made in the trailer park aside from improvements for the private developers across the street (yet to be named in public) and making their lives difficult to impossible. How in hell can you spin the fact that they have taken away you right to garbage pick up--into an "IMPROVEMENT?" I think the gang of 3 believe they can get away with anything they want to with just the right cover story. Remember how stealing our public beach for their favorite developer was really "just exploring creative solutions to our beach problem?"
The truth is now she has both egg and bird chit all over her face and the trio from hell's campaign. At a most importune time. Got caught being themselves and some pesky seniors called them out on it. Good for them, I'm behind them all the way. It's high time someone called their bluff on "moving the city forward" which translates into taxpayers contributing to a development free for all for their buddies. Unfortunately for them those same taxpayers still have the right to vote.
And we still have the right to free speech, even if it's limited at City Hall. Time to take our government back!

  11. I am glad that people are seeing why we are afraid of the city taking our homes.
They already have some of it, tomorrow a little bit more, the next day a little bit more until it is all theirs. We are not stupid seniors that don't see what is going on. Park of Commerce is more important. By the way Warehouses and offices are being built on the West side of Boutwell. Wow that is really going to improve the appearance of our city. More ugly buildings.

  12. I have decided that the trio should be called "Winken, Blinken and Nod" They go to their private meeting. They review the agenda for the meeting. They decide what they will vote on. They get to the meeting and when the subject comes up: One winks, one blinks and the other nods and the three vote together on the item of the agenda.

  13. So Ms Greene, why did you allow candidate Diane Jacques the opportunity to 'edit and add comment' in the letter you then sent to the PB Post? I have your email... And Diane's email stating just that. Care to comment?

  14. What is wrong with editing a letter? You guys are making a big deal out of nothing. Let's talk about the content of that letter, not who might have helped with a spelling word or two.
Does the Post ever edit Letters to the Editor?
Do people ever ask for help?
I am rather sure that every piece of campaign literature that will be sent out by you people will be read and edited.

  15. Well Pam it's like this. You know how dumb we seniors are. We wrote the letter first. When we invited the candidates in to speak with us about our concerns, Diane was the first to respond. We voiced our concerns and she indicated that we should put it into our letter as the concerns were valid. There was only one thing added to our letter. We also spoke with Gary Antieau. Why aren't you picking on him too. BY THE WAY HOW DID YOU OBTAIN OUR PRIVATE EMAIL CORRESPONDENCE. As far as I am concerned none of them were addressed to you or anyone else. I think it is called illegal.

  16. Pretty sure it is illegal to obtain, copy and distribute personal emails without a court order. Did you have one????

Who cares! She supports our cause. If this isn't just another lie, I'd like to personally thank her for helping Jerri with her letter. I've known Jerri for twenty years, and she's a smart lady. I'm pretty sure she can write a letter, but if Diane Jacques helped in some way, good for her. It's more than the city has ever done for us! Maybe she should have helped the Mayor write her letter to us. If she had helped edit that one maybe it would have offered us some help instead of going after Diane Jacques and bragging about herself. She sent it like it was an official letter but it was a campaign ad. This is the first time any of us have ever heard from this woman. What a waste of paper and a stamp. We won't be voting for her!

  18. What is this about emails and the mayor? Did she illegally distribute your private emails? That's against the law! How did she get your private emails? And did she actually send them around to people? That's completely unethical, if not downright sleazy. Guess she doesn't think she can win fair and square. I wasn't sure who I was voting for, but if she actually did this, it won't be for her.

  19. I am sorry, I can not comment on the email situation anymore as I am seeking legal counsel with regards to this issue.
