With a late start due to unforeseen circumstances, Diane Jacques had her kick-off party last night. She is now up and running and will be knocking on your door.
Here she is telling the folks how she will make Lake Worth better and why she needs your vote.
She is vibrant, savvy and energetic, and has really good ideas for Lake Worth that will benefit us the residents as opposed to big business and overdevelopment. She definitely has my vote and I just hope and pray we can get her in and overcome this election for sale garbage. If the trio gets back in we can say goodbye to all that is best in Lake Worth. She intends to concentrate on our neighborhoods, cleaning up the crime and blight, fixing the potholes. Make Lake Worth safe again. And like the other challengers, she actually LISTENS to residents. These are the things that are important to us. Does anyone not a developer really think things are better over the last 4 and a half years?? Not me by a long shot. I shudder to think if the deadly gang of 3 gets back in: goodbye beach, hello gridlock and overdevelopment, and gentrification to max us all right out of here. Unless you've ponied up LOTS of money. Pay to play, pay to stay.
ReplyDeleteMany of the ills we have in the city are due to the lack of some gentrification. The slum and blight needs to be kicked out and bulldozed to bring in new affordable housing, not the slum landlord haven we have become.
ReplyDeleteYes, slum accommodation is cheap. It keeps our town cheap. It attracts the type of people who have no problem with dirt, filth, roaches and weed infested yards. But, hey, that's why it's so cheap.
Gentrification is getting rid of slums and blight. Something Lynn constantly wants for Lake Worth then promotes the candidates that would do the exact opposite.
Since my name was mentioned, let me get into this debate--
ReplyDeleteIf you are going to slam these opponents, give me the facts that they want slum, blight and along with that, crime. Not one candidate wants any of that for this city. Two own their own homes. Do you really believe they want to see the city go down any further than it already has? They are not slumlords. They invested here to actually LIVE here.
The fact is, the incumbents have been in office for 4.5 years and in office during the economic turn-around and the city is worse than ever.
Diane-nice debate at the Lake Worth Playhouse.
ReplyDeleteShe is excellent. She has great command of the issues and knows what is important to residents of Lake Worth -- safety, and quality of life!!
ReplyDeleteWho's the rocker dude? Spinal Taps newest drummer?
